Julia R. Dutton, Ph.D.
Executive Director
As the founding director of Stoneleigh Center, Julia draws on an extensive background of experience in both the private and not-for-profit sectors. Known for helping many Philadelphia area nonprofit organizations achieve operating stability, Julia also served as chief operating officer of The Philadelphia Foundation. Her early academic career involved both research and teaching before she moved into the private sector. This combination of academic, business, and nonprofit experience coupled with a strong commitment to improving the lives of children and youth has served her well as she has shaped the early direction of the foundation. Julia serves on the boards of several Philadelphia nonprofit organizations. Born and raised in England, she has lived in the Philadelphia area for many years.
Julia Boerth, M.P.A.
Program Officer
A former policy analyst for the State of Wisconsin, Julia has examined the effects of the W-2 welfare reform initiative in Wisconsin as well as gang violence in the state. As a non-partisan program evaluator, she also looked at issues of prison health care, emergency response teams, and nursing home inspections. She was drawn to Stoneleigh Center's mission to serve children and youth, which ties to her days as a preschool director. A midwest native, Julia relocated from Texas to Pennsylvania in 2006.
Bernardine ("Dine") Watson, M.A.
Social Policy Consultant
Dine is a social policy consultant who works primarily with foundations, think tanks and other non-profit organizations. She began working with the Stoneleigh Center as a senior program consultant in 2006. Dine has extensive experience developing, managing and writing about initiatives for vulnerable youth and communities. She was formerly an executive vice president at Public/Private Ventures where she directed field operations and has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dine is now a resident of Washington, D.C.
Linda Rich, M.A.
Program Consultant
Linda has over 25 years of experience in psychotherapy, research, health policy analysis, foundation grant management, and program planning in the human services field. Her current work focuses on the training and professional development component of a large-scale community-based parenting network. She consults Stoneleigh Center on areas of opportunity in family support, especially parenting education and assistance. A native of New York, Linda has lived in the Philadelphia area for 25 years.
Meredith Brett
Intern
Meredith is a graduate student at the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. In her graduate studies, she is building on her B.A. in Government from the College of William and Mary, a semester working in the Irish Parliament in Dublin, Ireland, and an internship for Senator Edward Kennedy. A native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Meredith joined Stoneleigh Center as an intern in 2008.
